Smile Freelancer...

My May edition of PC Gamer just arrived and I got a surprise, the cd worked.
I have an on/off relationship with the things but I promptly installed Freelancer.
Looks good enough to buy and I think I'll like the multiplayer as well when I do.
One of those moments that make gaming worth it.

It varies from 120 to 256 pages depending on the month. The thickest in for fall/winter and the thinnest for summer/spring.
But mostly it depends on what's out for the month so there are pleasent surprises.
There not into perfume ads so it smells like your ordinary new magazine with fresh ink.
It is a good gamer magazine, there are alot of ads but also alot or reviews and columns.
Editorial and writer presence is marked and they are opinionated but honest beyond question.
Just be warned that they can play rough in the letters section.
If you e-mail Rob Smith, he has his own addy so make sure you get that one instead of of just letters, he'll very likely answer you.
The demo disk have been a "sometime thing" in my experience. They'll work fine for a few months, then the next few won't work, and then the cycle repeats. Very weird.
Greg Vederman, the notorious " the Vede",is the hardware editor and sometime reviewer and advice columnist. His hardware advice is sound and his reviews are very good. I ignore the rest of his stuff.
I'm not real fond of PC Gamer humor but that's just one of those things and I knew what it was when I subscribed.
Bottom line, the reviews and the columns are well worth the price
and each months articles are something to look foreward to.
Enjoy !

I find their reviews spot on, their humor lame and their predictions usually correct. Smart folks run that magazine. They sure aint funny tho.

I'm playing through the demo and, so far, it looks like a buy.

I bought the full game, and it's worth it. The story is pretty cool. I've played about halfway through the story. Lot's of areas to explore. Lately I've been distracted by C&C:Generals, college, work, and family, but I'm going to return to Freelancer as soon as the semester is over. If you enjoyed the demo, the full game won't dissapoint.

yes, it sounds great, supposed to be a good game, my brother has just started it and was disappointed by all the cut scenes, making the gameplay a bit linear to start with.
