What's the best game of all time?

PC, based on the UT engine, came out 2 or 3 years ago. It's a single player FPS.

It was cool because literally everything in the game could be used/picked up/modified, and it had several alternate endings based on what you did along the way.

I'd have to go with Unreal. I was riveted by the awesome graphics and storyline. One of the few games that I ever bothered finishing.

The two that stick out in my mind for being jaw dropping at their time are the original C&C and Tomb Raider. I remember being in absolute awe the first time we fired up C&C my freshman year of college, it was like nothing I had ever seen. Needless to say, class was put on the back burner for a couple of days. Same thing happened the first time I saw Tomb Raider. I have probably played "better" games since then, but no others have had the same effect.

Those are all good "newer" games. One of the best "older" games is DOOM in one of it's five flavors.

I've no real preferences as to genre, except for RTS games ( I'm attracted to them but I'm awful at them.) .
