Battlefield Requirements??
My cousins load time on BF 1942 is really long. When I load its almost instant but he takes like 2 to 3 minutes online. hes running on a 1.4ghz Duron with 256 sdrram and a geforce 400mx card. the system recommends 256 ram and 800 mhz to play. If he'd got to 512 DDR ram would it make a difference? Thanks

what OS? Xp likes 512 much better. Either way, BF is memory hog. Make sure you get the latest batch. The most powerful systems of all had performance issues, many have been worked out.

Alot of RAM is good, and yes I'd recommend 512 for this game. That MX card is another bottleneck, but would be much more expensive to replace.
This is one of the few popular games out right now that's way ahead of it's time in hardware demands. Maps are upwards of 50 megs, 10 times the size of the average Q3/CS/UT map. |
