RPG Clichés
http://project-apollo.net/text/rpg.html
Stop Your Life (Setzer Rule) No matter what kind of exciting, dynamic life a character was leading before joining your party, once there they will be perfectly content to sit and wait on the airship until you choose to use them. Child Protection Act (Rydia Rule) Children 12 and under are exempt from death. They will emerge alive from cataclysms that slaughter hundreds of sturdily-built adults, often with barely a scratch. Further protection is afforded if the catastrophe will orphan the child. Last Rule of Politics Kingdoms are good. Empires are evil. "Mommy, why didn't they just use a Phoenix Down on Aeris?" Don't expect battle mechanics to carry over into the "real world." Respectfully, Demosthenes |

another RPG cliche...The bad guy always has tons of these henchmen who seem to just stick around for nothing...

Wow. I didn't manage myself to read past the middle. Those guys have too many time on their hands.

1. ALWAYS start with the guy on the far end and work in towards the middle in battle.
2. THE medic in the party will always be a small girl. 3. USING status spells on enemies never works unless it is in a boss fight, and then they usually are immune. |

the main rules of an rpg boss fight:
they always have a crappy name they have a big well hard pet or alter ego that wants to fight you first they always either have shield or cure automatically they block your attempts to shield or cure your hit probability goes down their limit break is waaay better than yours, if they get a limit break, your dead! also while exploring, there will be plenty of hidden items. so, when walking always rapidly tap the X button and you will stumble across an array of potions, cures, and weapons.

Vivi's Spellbook Principle
Over the course of the game, you will spend countless hours learning between twenty and one hundred skills and/or spells, approximately three of which will still be useful by the end of the game. Ain't that the truth? Respectfully, Demosthenes |

Lol, Vivi will learn Fire, Blizzard and Thunder etc. but at the end of the game he will only need to use: Doomsday, Meteor, Waterga, Blizzaga, Thundaga, Firaga and Reflect 2X.
