I thought most PS2 games are DVD-rom only now. The purple discs are Playstation only and the silver DVD are DVD-rom, right?

Also, the PS2 wont be able to handle 5.1 IN GAME. It has a lot of games that use 5.1 in cutscenes and CG though. The 'box though can support 5.1 IN GAME.

ITS on DVD because the PS2 does not have a hard drive to store the data, there for using the dvd as a hard drive, making load times longer than a PC. so games on pc are usually on a CD and not dvd.

What??!!on DVD??
Now I have to get a DVD-rom just to play it?Oh well.....
DVD-rom will replace CD-rom anyhow in the future.
I hope it will release both cd and dvd version.
So whats the minimum disk space to install MGS2 and system requirement?

NVidia, on a slide for now, is trying to keep it's bottom line up and EA is run by morons. There's no way tying your game company's future to a faltering video card maker, and angering the rest of your potential customers, is in your best interest.
After listening to all the "consolidation in the game's industry is inevitable" stories; these guys have decided to try doing it this way.
I think they're wrong and I think they may do considerable damage to pc gaming if this balkanizes it on par with consoles.

Has anyone ever looked at the base image quality of the nvids compared to the ati? The ati kicks ass, so to speak. I never knew 3dmark had so many cool textures, such as wood grain on the longbows used by the guards in the dragon demo. Nvid cheats its ass off in 3dmark with fastest textures and who knows what other efforts they use. 10200 on my gf4ti with absolutely ugly images, and 9900 with the ati 9500 with nice image. Both set to best performance in d3d for the 3dmark test.
I will take the ati, thank you.
No more nvid for me, sides, it (nvid cards) crashes my favorite game (tribes) when using the plasma gun. In every computer we have, be it amd or intel, the nvid cards lock up. Not so with the ati, and better image quality. I will wait for better drivers.
Go ati!! heh

You might have to do that yourself, say like at a computer store, or at a friend's who has the cards.

I will say that even my comps that have rage 128's in them have far far better image quality, especialy in 2d, than any of my nvids, wich range from tnt2's to gf4ti's...
