Hardcore FPS gamers, do you run usb mice/kb?

PS2 or USB, which is it?
Why do you prefer it over the other?
Any benches that show usb is faster or slower than running ps2?

PS/2 all the way.

Why? Because USB devices don't work in safe mode and you some times need to use the safe mode.

USB mouse, ps/2 keyboard.

If the mouse is accurate enough there can be a difference between PS/2 and USB for accuracy I've noticed. I've only seen it on high end mice tho, would probably only apply to Boomslangs, Intellimouse 3.0s, and Logitech dual opticals.

Xayd, that gator av really bothers me. Gawd I hate gator....
Anyway yeah, maybe a ps2 kb and running the tellymouse3.o as usb will be even better than running both ps2, then they will be on separate bussi (latin plural of bus? Kinda like Elvii are many Elvis's, say like at a convention)....

I don't play FPS games * err, umm, well, you mean the ones I've got now? Well, NOLF happens to everyone, and Freespace 2 is a classic, and I couldn't miss the Thief games, 'could I ?'. Oh you mean the Freelancer demo and, well, there are the rest ? Okay I'm buying Ghost Recon. *.
Okay, I confess, I play them with a ps2 logitech trackball and it's going well.
I admit my "significant other" hooks a usb intelli-eye mouse up to the comp to play games on-line, he claims there's " no real control " with the trackball.
Since I watch him have a great time swooping around the desk with the mouse I'm not convinced that's the reason, but, to each his own.
So, if it works for you, do it.

Usb seems to work fine for first person games, but sometimes using a coordless mouse on a fps can cause problems. Cause there could be some delay between the movement and detection.

I which all fps were keybrd driven, I'm terrible with a mouse... but when I use one, I use the USB Logitech MX 700 cordless and it doesn't skip a beat. My ps/2 Logitech Marple FX trackball just didn't seem to cut it...

So far after the change to usb mouse and ps2 kb, all is working smoothly, and the gaming "seems" enhanced.

I use the MX700 on my main rig, and the MX500 on my server. They are both awesome mice for FPS. I don't have any of the problems that you would expect from a wireless mouse. Its very acurate and very smooth.
