Unhappy

I know this is a dumb question, but how do you hook up a joy stick where it will work. The one I got for my grand son is for a serial port. But the end of it is to big to plug in.It is a 15 pin male end. What in the world does it plug into. And no there is no usb on this computer. I did plug it in to something on the back, windows says it is there but it will not operate the game. Thanks..Dennis

Depending on your sound card you may have a port on it, there also may be a game port on your mobo.

The midi port on a sound card is considered a gaming port, and a serial port. It sounds like the one you want, as before USB, most joysticks plugged into the sound card. If you have an incompatibility with one of these types of Joysticks, it is most likely the sound card as they run off the same drivers and IRQ.

Dennis McGuire, I just wanted to let you know that no question that you ask here on PCM is dumb.
