AI in Unreal 2
My son and I were talking about how dumb the marines are in Unreal 2 (how they just stand around and quickly get killed)- and also how lame the AI is in general in Unreal 2. My son asked "Why didn''t they use the AI from UT?" I don't know- why didn't they use the AI from UT or UT2003? Is it a cost issue, copyright?

Digital Extremes made the original Unreal games, they were fired halfway through the development of UT2003, and Epic contracted another company to do Unreal 2.
Bottom line, there was little effort put into either game, they're largely ports of the X-Box Unreal game. You're not the only one disappointed in the sequels .

Per the other threads, I have trepidation that this is the future of gaming- lots of eye candy but lacking in those things that make gaming rewarding- and/or PC FPS's just being console ports (i.e., RFII).
It's a real turnoff to spend $40 on game of this mediocrity (no mutliplayer and the single player mission only takes about 8 hours to complete and zero replay value). |

Yup, I agree. Especially FPS games have been a big disappointment lately. The only game that has really impressed me lately has been BF1942.
