The requirements for SWG....
I have some potential customers who don't want to upgrade until they know what Star Wars Galaxies will require.
Well today they've finally published the system requirements. So if you've been waiting go here and scroll down the page:http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony...atures/faq.jsp It's a little steep but nothing like as bad as had been feared.

Yeah, that's true.
It's changing now, cable and phone companies finally getting their acts together, but for awhile there you'd have sworn they were working overtime to make sure broadband reached as few people as possible. |

No the price varies widely.
For instance in my city dsl is now down to $35 and cable will have to match it ( the price used to be $49 ). The prices are part of the broadband problem as is the fallout from the dot com crash since communication stocks, Qwest and Genuity for example, were part of the bubble. |

Where I live, we don't get any high-speed options except satellite, which is terrible.

Welcome to the free market.
They'll get around to it when it pays, meanwhile they're garnering a massive amount of ill-will. The thing is, RoadRunner is in Albany, Herkimer has it's own highspeed outlet ( this amazed me when I heard it but the community college set it up ) and places like Utica and Syracyse are also managing. Don't live there? Out of luck ! It 's a glitch left over from the AT&T break-up that will eventually be corrected but meanwhile you have to live through it. |

Hi Aw_D,
If that big tech center they've been talking about materializes, I think it's out your way, you'll be getting cable broadband. Resist the impulse to kick'em in the shins when they ask if you want it. |

Thanks for the heads-up.
I really like living in the country, and the only thing I *dislike* about it is lack of high-speed internet options. If that is remedied, it'll be heaven way out here!
