It seems Windows XP and Thief have a codec problem the necessitates reinstalling the Indeo codecs after you've run the game ( the cause is something M$ did with sp1 ).
The codecs are on the cd so that's not the problem. What is the problem is how you reinstall just part of a game cd. I'm guessing I'll have to copy it into something but I don't know what or where. Help !

Perhaps you can explore into the cd contents and look around for the folder in which the codecs are found?
Is this something you have to do after each time to play the game?

I found a solution last night which involves reinstalling LGVID.AX which is already on the HDD.
Yes, it has to be done before I play the game. There's a registry hack that's said to fix it once and for all so if reinstalling gets annoying enough I may try that. |
