Panzer Dragoon Orta

Anyone else play/ed this? Seems like an okay game, but something I would recommend renting than buying.

Anyway, what's the language they're speaking? It seems to elegant to be Japanese. Nothing against their language, but it is not the most graceful collection of syllables I have heard. Is it just made up ancient jiberish-ese?

Well, after years of playing the first three Panzer Dragoon games on the Sega Saturn, I was blown away by the quality of the Orta version. Finally Sega has the hardware to bring that game to life.

They probably should do a sequel to Panzer Dragoon Saga next time though, as that was probably the best of the three, and the more immersive (depending on your definition of immersive)

Youre right though, a rental cant hurt to see if you like it or not.

As for the language, I'm not sure, but I know its exclusive to that game. It's not Japanese, but they may have used Japanese as a base for the accents and stuff.

I hear there is actually an entire language devoted to the game, created just for it, kind of like Klingon in StarTrek.
So, you could learn it and speak it, just like any other language in the world.

I wonder...

Is Panzer Dragoon Saga worth playing? I saw in the manual that it was an RPG type of game, but did center around the rail shooting combat style. Out of all the listings, it struck me as the most interesting.

The deep voiced narrator sounded kinda Latin-y in that it sounded like a romance language, but the ingame dialogue did seem to be more Japanese-ish. Maybe it was the voice actors putting Japanese accents and inflections in, but I thought they were speaking two different languages at first. I will have to play it again and listen more closely.

Now after playing the original Panzer Dragoon in Pandora's Box, I understand what you mean about the graphics. It is kinda like SNES Mode 7 graphics: a little to ambitious for its time.

I mostly remember the language from the first two games, and you're right it is kinda "Latinish". It's been so long though...

Yes, the Saga version was the RPG/Action/Adventure take on the series. It was basically the same game, but you could get off of the dragon and walk around towns while figuring out the story. It was VERY cool, and much longer than the first two games. (not to mention the best graphics of the three, but of course Orta beats them all in the visuals department)

I have it for the Xbox and it has great graphics, the gameplay isn't too bad. I haven't played it much, I've been playing All-Star Baseball 2004 and at least there my beloved Tigers can do some good.

Although I haven't played it much, but if your a gamer it's a game that would probably be better renting than buying, for it seems like it might be a little short playwise.

I played that game on an Xbox at Sam's Club and it rocked! I don't have an Xbox, so I sure hope it comes to the PC!
