I just started playing Diablo 2 and it rocks!!! It's more addictive than crack!
I've tried playing as a Barbarian, Druid, Assasin, and Necromancer, and I like the Necromancer the best. I put most of my skill points into conjuring skills and the "Teeth" skill so I can drop back and clear out large groups of monsters while my conjured cronies do the grunt work. I totaly want to hear what characters people are using and what strategies are being used.

Me and my friends played that game non-stop last summer, then It died. Too much politics for a stupid game, and too much cheating.
What charecter is best for you depends on what you want to do with them. 'Zons are the best if you know what you are doing. Find a good site that can help you put your points in the right places. If you just put them in all willy nilly, then you end up with a charecter thats worth nothing. Second tip is to level up like no other. Have ppl rush you to hell then do arcane runs, then hell runs, untill you can get to Cow runs. Cow runs are all kinds of fun if your good enough. I stick by my original assesment...Amazons are the best. |

Necro - I tried to make a good one about 5 times, using strategy sites, advice from other players, and great items, and they ALWAYS sucked.
Barbarian - Nothing like a good ol' WW bab with polearm or Mace mastery, get the Gavel of Pain or something...and just WW the living crap out of cows, but you better be sure you have a lot of dual leech, and faster hit recovery, or youll get owned. Druid - LOL, No comment. Assassin - That was a waste of time and energy... Paladin - Too damn hard. You need to be REALLY good with your points and have some of the most epenisve stuff in the game in order to have a good Paladin, but if you pull it off, youll be unstoppable. Sorceress - My personal favorite. I like the Electric/Ice sorc, or "Nova/Orb". I would put like 5pts into warmth, max out Your Nova, Thunderstorm and your Lightning Mastery, put as many as you can spare into energy shield, about 10 if possible into a Frozen armor of your chouse, I liked "Shiver". Then you would put as many as you could spare into orb, and maybe like 2 or 3 into Cold Mastery, set up your hot keys, and when your doing hell cows, you send a few orbs out to slow them down, and then you nova them as they enter your radius. +skill items and Fastest Cast Rate are crucial to making this work...not to mention as much mana regenerations or +% to mana items as you can keep on you. But what really makes the sorc great is if you can accomplish all this, and still have a crap load of majic find...the goodies will drop like candy out of a pinyata ![]() ![]() Amazon - Devastating, get some dual leech, As much increased attack speeed items as possble, and make either a javazon or bowazon, I like bowazon, but gave my acccounts away before I decided to make a full bowazon, I had a pretty good hybrizon though... Good times....

Yes...I am still addicted to Diablo 2 LOD!!! Plus, with version 1.10 coming out within the next couple of weeks...I will probably do a D2 marathon. As the last post has related to...I also am a big fan of the Sorceress. She can tote just about the highest "magic find" equipment as long as she can dodge the enemies with ranged attacks. I use my Sorcs to "mf" the good junk that I use to build my Necro, Druid, other sorcs, and my new Barbarian build. The Sorc takes a beating against Duriel in A2 but with plenty of "faster run" stuff on, you can launch Hydra's and eventually kill him. As for your necro, I would suggest leveling Bone Spirit instead of teeth. For one of the best sources of D2 information, try http://www.diabloii.net. Good stuff!!! Now, I just need to find an Occulus!!!!

Actually a great way to avoid that problem with Duriel is too hire a mirc, I personally like the act 2 merc(offensive) I will hire him in normal(when Im lvl 50 or so) and then do blood runs in normal till hes about 30 or so, then to NM blood runs, and at about 70 if I think his gear is suffucent I will do some hell runs with him...Its better if your hire them in normal, they have better stats when you lvl them..
Also when a mirc kills something, its his MF + Yours....something to think about

MF is the total amount of "Magic Find" you have given by a %. Your MF total is the total each MF% item you have equipped. Rings, amulets, weapons (Gull Dagger), armor, helms, gloves, belts, shields, charms...all these can have a % of MF. Your MF increases the likelyhood of you finding a magic, rare, or unique item when you kill a monster. The higher the MF, the better chances you have to find better, more elite items. The website I mentioned before, http://www.diabloii.net, has a breakdown of the unique items and guides on building the specific type of character you have in mind. Also, cube recipes and rune combinations can be found there.

I have a level 99 Sorc, 90 Zon, 87 Barb, 70 Zon, 70 Pally. The game is too easy right now. Waiting for patch 1.10 is the best thing to do before buying the game if you are going to.

I play an amazon, barbarian, sorceress and assassin, all about level 80 and I have a really hard time deciding which is my favorite. When it comes to dueling I go with my amazon and assassin. My amazon like any, relies on the guided arrow which is pretty much unstopable when wielding a variety of charms. With an assassin I use tiger strike which works pretty well, but if your dueling and shadow and traps are allowed, then you're pretty much unstoppable. For magic find, I go with my sorceress (who I've heard are pretty good duelers as well [haven't too much of it with this character]), because they are great when it comes to magic find, teleporting to the boss, static'ing them and then using nova and orb. And my barbarian, he's great for a lot of things, I like to duel with him occassionally because he's pretty good, but it's stuff for a barbarian to duel a zon. I use him for helping people with bosses and for rushing in the higher difficulties. Whirlwind is a great offensive tool (new graphic in the next patch) and beserk when attacking just a single enemy. Also, jump and battle shout comes in handy too. So when it comes to deciding my favorite class I can not decide. Classes I'll be trying next: Druid, Pally and Necro.
