C&C Generals. Who liked it?

Well I got the C&C Generals for $33 off ebay and I'm glad I didn't pay the full $50 for this stinkin thing. First, where is the navy?? No destroyers or submarines, that was the first thing I disliked. Then I found out there are only 7 missions being the US. I haven't played as any of the others yet. 7 stupid missions of fighting the terrorists. I thought some how I would end up fighting the Chinese for some reason, but nope. Yeah the graphics are better than the previous C&C games, but the game play just flat out sucked. Maybe I made the mistake of playing on normal hoping for a challenge because I was new to the game. The story line sucked compared to Red Alert 1 and 2. I guess I'll try it as the chinese next, maybe its better..who knows.. I'm just dissapointed.

What did everyone else think about this game?

The game is very good in my opinion. The last time someone started complaining about the lack of a navy people started arguing. I like it as is. Wouldn't change a thing. You figth against a rouge chinese general and his forces near the end of the US champain, so don't even say that yo don't.

All in all the game is great. Period. Its focused on being multiplayer anyway, nobody really cares about the stupid storyline it's basically training for people before they start multiplayer. IMO that is.

Yeah there is a rouge general in one of the champains, but I just bomb the crap out of him. Really found no challenge. Like is said before, maybe it was because I made the mistake to but the difficulty to normal instead of hard. There is still no real combat between the US and China. I was expecting a better single player play that I found in Red Alert 1 and 2. Throw in a few more missions and I might be a bit happier. Sorry to say but the a navy would make it a bit better as well. The Tomahawk missiles launched from a ship would of been cool! I also missed the video clips inbetween the missions. Oh and where is Tonya? She was the coolest thing in C&C Red Alert, and a hottie in RA2 lol

I guess you are a hardcore C&C gamer. Didn't mean to rub ya the wrong way when sharing my dislike or disappointment with Generals. The Graphics were cool..

As for C&C Generals, I thought it was average. Massive slowdown in some parts on my system but not too bad. I think the ultimate weapons were a bit overpowered and the online portion was just horrible. Every game, no matter the connections of the other players or the game speed setting was just terribly slow. It took years for things to build and watching an army do battle was the most boring event ever. Don't know if they've done anything to change that or not, but overall it wasn't a bad game.

It works very fast for me. It depends on the hosts network connection and how many people are playing.

Maybe your processor is too slow. The game RECOMMENDS 1.8 ghz to offer its full potential.

1.47Ghz here and only 256 Ram. Its all about RAM and its speed. a 1.3Ghz Processor,1GB 2700Memory Turbo speed and cooled properly, Radeon 9800Pro and you can do almost anything.

I think the game is great, and I hated the previous installments of this series. I can't stand single player in RTS games, I have to play against other people.

I consider myself a hardcore C&C gamer and I have to say that the game is not very good.

It's appalling that the game needs a 1.8 GHz CPU to run. While I was waiting for Generals I bought Warcraft III. It looks better, runs better and gets everything right that Generals failed to.

I don't think I'll ever buy a C&C game again and just stick to RA2.

i bought it off a man the day it came out, who bought it about 5 hours earlier and hated it, i htought id picked up a steal at nearly half price of brand new, but the only good thing about it was the novelty of better graphics, 3D and not being totally bound to a grid, after the novelty wore off, about 4 days, i havent played it since, and after a reinstall of XP, my HDD hasnt been graced with its presence

The slowdown didn't affect my opinion of the game at all. I was sort of expecting it (this ol' XP 1600+ aint what it used to be). I just plain didn't care for the game.
