revisiting older games Total Annihilation

I just installed Total Annihilation yeserday on my win 2k computer. 1.5 Ghz , 64meg Nvidia agp, 1gb of ram.

After problems getting it to run because of Direct X errors, I finally got it down to just one warning.

I set it to 3 computer AI's and me, and just let it build and build. Zero Lag even in a very heated battles.

keep in mind, last time I played it was back in my win95 days with intell p166, no MMX 80 meg of ram.

It is a world of difference and fun again.

Anyways, I just wanted to visit an old game and I enjoied it.

I had the TA pack. Comes TA, The Core Contingency and a "training" disc.

While I liked the game units and mechanics and gameplay, I never enjoyed it much. Why? Because of the fog of war. In some missions you have to bomb with artillery but you never really get to see the buildings destroyed by your shots because of the fog. And not always you can win with tank rushes.

yea, I downloaded the AI patch and the computer is just rude on attacks. I fully cheated a game and got my arse kicked by the computer. Maybe I have just lost it.

Also sending in units to attack is bad, they spread out and get themselves picked off allot, however the brawler gunships are to cool.

I like to build bases. meaning I sit on my butt too long and get surrounded. Then I need nukes just to hold my own. But if I get my base built I am Tuff to invade. Never built defensive weapons on your walls, they accidently break down the wall if they are firing on you in place guns, set them back a few squares.
