Red Alert 2 is cool
I didn't really like War Craft 3 Reign of Chaos

Supposedly "Rise of Nations" is really, really, really, ... uhh ... really good.

Extended Play gave it a glowing review, said it streamlined both rts and tbs. I think the word "nerd-gasm" was in there somewhere, so with words like that, it must be pretty dam good.

I played a bit of the Rise of Nations demo....
got bored...
went back to WCIII.

It seems I'm addicted to the RPG in RTS...

I can't wait til World of Warcraft comes out.

RA2 is definitely my favorite. It has so many features totally unique to it that I really like. Things like no population limit of any kind, perfect pathfinding, and centralized unit queues. Oh, and never-ending resources.

Age of Empires 2
Age of Mythology
Starcraft/Warcraft 2
The original Dune 2

I still want to check out Emperor of Dune. I see it in the bargain bin from time to time. Has anyone played it. Opinion?

For RTS games my favs are still the Command & Conquer games. AoE was pretty fun but got me bored after a while.

For TBS games I still play Heroes of Might and Magic 2 and 3 from time to time.

I'm awful at RTS games and I wouldn't be playing any of them if it weren't for Homeworld.
I've got Homeworld: Catalyst as well.
Worse, I'll probably buy Homeworld 2.
I sure hope practice make perfect, at least I've learned not to throw scouts and light corvettes into battles.
I've also learned not to pull "Charge of the Light Brigade" nonsense.
Oh well, practice, practice. practice.
I'll never be brillant at it but I can get the basics right.
Who knows, I may need them.

Starcraft. It hasn't gotten old in 4 years. Actually, anything by blizzard, the best company out there.

Did you play them in order or did you play Red Alert first?

The original is slower than the later ones. I played the original first. Then RA. And when I got back to the original I found it almost unbearable because of the "reduced" speed of units and the time it took for the credits to be available once the harvester entered the refinery.

I was disappointed with Age of Mythology… the graphics could of been better. I agree with Nuke Age if Empires got old fast and warcraft III….. I think I would of enjoyed it better if I hadn’t used cheats…

Hummm.... So I guess I dont have any Favorites... I'm more of a FPS kind of guy...

i started with the original then moved to RA. As you said the movement is greatly depreciated and hard to take after awile. Generals units dont move as fast as RA unit but it is still more bearable. Units have a more life like speed to them
