Thanks much guys.

Imagine that, a 3dfx guy and an Nvidia guy co-modding the same forum. Tiretool, I think next is peace in the middle east.

Yeah Prader, as long as Gore doesn't want a recount of my post totals I think we're in the clear .

There's no disputing that 3dfx is a powerhouse in the 3d gaming world. I've always known that. I just decided to go with the Nvidia bandwagon so my knowledge of 3dfx is limited. I knew you were an avid 3dfxer and knew you would be a tremendous asset. I often poke fun at you about you going to "the dark side" but make no mistake, as with Intel and AMD, if it were not for 3DFX where would the 3D gaming world be today? Still playing the first generation Quake and Doom games? If not for 3DFX, would NVidia even exist?Plus the fact that you have tinkered in the art of overclocking the AMD and I'm meddling with the Celeron... birds of a feather, you know?

Heh, I forgot about the Intel/AMD difference as well, I think this may be the strangest pair I've come across in quite awhile.

Anyways, I think it's a good thing to have valid points on both sides. Hell, we got all bases covered. You got the OpenGL-D3D/nVIDIA/Intel stuff covered, and I know about the Glide/AMD/3dfx stuff.

I just hope AMD and 3dfx don't screw up and make all of us loyal followers eat our words in the next year or two .

Xayd

Nah... I don't see that happening. There's plenty of following for all four companies (Intel/Amd/3DFX/Nvidia) and plenty of money out there that will get spent on all of the above! AMD especially keeps chugging ahead and are breaking boundaries every day! As long as Intel keeps up and doesn't fall victim there'll always be great products at great prices!
