Question NOLF2.....choppy graphics

It appears that FPS games like NOLF2,Alien VS Predator2,Medal of honorseries and others plays kinda choppy on my machine...I've done installing new drivers for alll my hardware and even defrag my harddrive.
It started choppy when during some gun fight or sound intense scene and sometimes cannot be played at all....
My question is can it be related to the onboard sound that only provide software buffer sound?Or the 256mb ram of mine was insufficient to play such game?Is it wise to get a sound card?

I would suspect its the ram FantasySoul. To play an intense game you would need a 512MB to run it smoothly. Also what CPU are you using and is your ram PC133 or DDR266? just a thought.

I'm playing those games using the DDR266 memory..the new system.
Back where I started gaming 256mb should be enough for majority of games but now the games seems like eating the memory alive...dang!!

Yeah I would go with adding more ram at least another

256mb, I had the same problem with NOLF 2 when I had just

256mb but when I added another 512mb the game ran

smoothly.
