While browsing in Rhino Video Game shop today in the used PC game isle, I stumbled across a $16.99 copy of Diablo II. I was shocked and scooped it up!
I'm very impressed with gameplay and the movies are great! I played for about an hour this evening and time sure blew by! This is the first of this genre game I have purchased and I'm pleased! Very nice sound and cool graphics too.. especially the cinematics!

Sometimes I wonder if Blizzard actually spends more on the cinematics than the game itself
. Check out the Warcraft 3 trailers at blizzard's site, there's no way the game will be as cool as those movies are.Xayd |

What is your opinion about the graphics? I read that the graphics, especially in the beginnng levels, are dated and below par, and for this reason have not bought the program.
The screen shots for DII on Gamespot look good, however, I also read on various forums that the screen shots were altered so that they look signficantly better than the actual game graphics. |

I have only played Diablo I on the Playstation console and they (the graphics) were mediocre at best. The graphics on D2 are greatly enhanced but may be attributed to the fact that I'm playing with a 19" monitor (which should display in higher, more vivid resolution) and I'm using a GeForce 2 GTS video card. I can only assume that the video would look better on a computer than it does on a TV, but it looks very good to me!I'd recommend this game to lovers of this particular genre.
On a scale of one to ten.... Diablo II gets a 7.5 from me. |

Might give it a try-- Doubt if I can find a copy of $17 though, cheapest here is at a warehouse club for $48.

Seems like you'll do way better than me Prader Willi. It costs $65.00 here. I think that I will order it because it will be cheaper.

I think D2 sucked. All the hype, for basically an expansion pack of Diablo. The graphics are terrible, the characters are ok, the weapons are lame, the bosses are dumb. Even Diablo is not as cool as the first. I agree with Xayd, the cut scenes rock, too bad we don't play those. Go buy Deus Ex or Baldur's Gate 2, you'll be happier. D2 was addictive, only because i kept hoping it would get better. It is collecting dust on my shelf as we speak, only played through once.

Diablo 1 was a great game in it's day. The first true multiplayer game out there that could be played for free over the net. Sadly, Blizzard hasn't improved on the multiplayer side that much. Warcraft 3 looks like it has much more promise, I guess we shall see what time brings from the folks at Blizzard...

hmm
It was an awesome game when I played it, I had a level 82 barbarian, 32 necro, 30 amazon and 32 paladin.
I quit with the 1.03 patch, it totally nerfed my characters and I gave my account away. Start on the "realms", it will give you a much better experience in the long run. As soon as I got into Baldur's Gate 2 though, I thought "man Diablo 2 sucks." |

Ok, I bought the game for my son for Christmas. Yeah. the graphics are pretty bad (compared to the graphics in Alice, or older games like Half-Life or even Quake II). The game was fun for about 6 hours-- then it just got repititious. Can't save within the game (only when you quit) and when you quit, all the monsters respawn the next time you start. I died once and was unable to retrieve my body because there were about 50 monsters standing around it- so I had to quit the game and restart it to "loot" my body- this is fun?
Another complaint-- the camera is static. There is a game called Darkstone (came out about 2 years ago) which is real similar to Diablo except that the camera can be moved and zoomed by using the arrow keys. Wonder why Diablo II didn't incorporate this nice feature? Battlenet can be fun-- but it is quite laggy. |

DII is a great game when you play multiplayer, too bad Blizzard servers got hacked and bunch of people lost their characters. Blizzard is fixing that now.
The graphics is better than the first one and if you got glide support, looks even better. |
