help me out!

hey guys, i was just deciding on what vid card to get to improve my performance in games....this is the one i picked:
VGA CHAINTECH GEFORCE4 TI4800SE128MB VGA & TV-OUT, DVI OUT. RETAIL BOX. Is this the right vid card for me?

System specs now:
P4 2.53 GHz
Geforce4 MX420
256 MB DDR2700
Soundblaster Live! 5.1

yes it will work very well. My friend got a chaintech gf3 ti200 and it overclocks very well beyond ti500 clock speeds.

but im getting a GF4 TI4800SE 128 MB, not a gf3 ti200.....

I have a GF4 Ti4200 and it runs games smoothly. The card you have choosen will definately increase performance.

You may also want to take a look at an ATI Radeon 9200 or 9500.

Don't be fooled by the 8x support, though. Most of the time that transfer speed is not even needed. (Your motherboard has to support 8x AGP to use it anyway)

He was just commenting on the fact that the brand produced a nice card that was able to be easily overclocked. The card you're talking about will work just fine in your system and you'll see a definite performance increase over the MX card you have now.

As far as 8x goes, it got me 1000 extra points in 3dmark, wich everyone knows is the most important thing on earth.
