GameSpy
Anybody else here think that GameSpy server(s) suck. For no reason, not just for me but other's who have the pay extra cable connection will sometimes lag bad.

Depends on who hosts. I play there all the time and I click on "Find servers in my own country" box. Just check the ping too before you enter. I dont bother if its over 150. And I dont get what you mean by paying extra? For cable?

Isn't every game server/master server type (gamespy, gametiger, et all) just a means to insert spyware into your system? Kinda like roger wilco having trickler in it? No thanks, there has to be a better way. They are not doing this for free, you are getting spied on (hence the name, game spy?) and they get paid by the spyware folks. Might as well dl some gator stuff.

HLSW don't think it came with any spyware, used to use The All Seeing Eye but switched to HLSW because some game server require it for connection. Gamespy has too many ads.

Geez some ppl really are paranoid. Ive been playing thrue Gamespy for aboot 2 years now and Ive never heard or experienced any of this rumors/problems with spyware or anything else. Gamespy is incorparated in most of todays new games and is very handy. |

It just seems like when I'm playing nascar thunder 2003 or need4speed hot pursute the rooms have higher pings, have connection drops, & lag problems much more then when I race need4speed porsche unleashed hockey, football, (other ea sports games) which dont use gamespy. should i start playing the gamespy games through gamespy instead of through the game?

I hate GameSpy. I use in game server selection (if it has it). Medal of Honor doesn't like Gamespy open when I'm playing. It causes it to crash! If I don't have to use it I won't use it. The servers are not run from Gamespy itself. Gamespy is just for veiwing and selecting servers.
