Chaser Fix
If you've bought the UK version of this game and are having difficulty installing the game then go here for the Install Fix and the .exe fix
http://www.chasergame.com/index.php?lang=en&rid=753 If you get an invalid CD-Key message when trying to run the game, then email support here and include your CD-Key number. cp-support@jowood.de If necessary, then will email you a self-working Fix which will put the correct Key number into your Registry. Game's looking good. One of the best intro sequences I've seen in a while. The movement of the enemies in the cut scenes is incredible. Most realistic movement I've seen in a FPS. |

Maybe it hasn't hit the States yet?? Sounds good, though!

I just bought it on a whim yesterday. Hadn't read anything about it. It just arrived on the shelves without a fanfare.
Usually that's a bad sign but sometimes I like to to take a gamble. Although a run of the mill FPS, it's huge (40 levels) and has got some very nice little touches of originality which I have enjoyed. Think of the film Total Recall and you'll be on the right track. Too soon to say anything else about it. |

Hi Mike,
How are you liking the game? I like the screenshots but their site doesn't list anywhere to "buy" it from......TwoRails |

Hi TwoRails,
I've haven't had a lot of time to play it - so I'm probably about a quarter of the way thro. So far I'm enjoying it - small bugs and all. The music and game engine are good. The level design ranging from good to excellent. However, the gameplay is less science fiction and more SOF. Pity - I was hoping for some non-human enemies (aka Red Faction) to add a bit of variety. But it's early days. It's yet another game from Eastern Europe; so that may explain why there is a delay in a possible US release. Will keep you posted.

Hi TwoRails,
Don't know if you're around at the moment, but I'm just posting an update on Chaser. If they do release the game in the US, then I would recommend you buy it. The Cauldron's CloakNT engine is one of the best new games engines I've seen in a while. It is quite remarkable in that it produces large, gorgeous indoor and outdoor environments, superb textures, and excellent lighting and shadows, without even straining the graphics system. id and Epic would do well to note that you don't need an uber CPU and graphics card to produce high-quality eye-candy and super-smooth frame rates. The graphic standard is so high, if it weren't for the lack of alien enemies, I could imagine I was playing HL2 instead of a relatively unknown game. I predict (and hope) that they will be quite a lot of interest in Licenses for this game engine because it really is superb. The gameplay is good enough and the weapons are very satifying. Also, there are enough twists and turns in the plot to keep you interested and guessing. It's one of the games where you take as much time admiring the scenery and level design as surviving and shooting. Always a nice addition to any game. I would imagine I'm about three-quarters of the way thro this game now and I'm totally addicted and hooked. I've lost count of how many times I've died, but, as with most good games, dying was enjoyable and always keeps you coming back for more punishment. As I've said already, this is not the greatest game ever made, but with 40 huge levels in diverse and interesting locations, you certainly get your money's worth. When Unreal 2 was just finshing, this game just starts to warm up. Anyway, that's my view and I hope it whets your appetite for this unknown gem from Slovakia. I hope it gets a US release.
