Got a call from co-worker who said his kid tried to install Madden 2K from one of those $9.99 jewel-case packages they sell at Walmart and he kept getting this error message:
"this program cannot be installed-there is an error in ip.cfg" I looked at a game cd I got bundled with a video card and did an explore. The ip.cfg file on this game was what looked like a list of requirements needed to run the game. The comp this kid uses is a 1 month-old HP Pavillion so it should have met the game requirements.I stopped buying these cheap $9.99 sw packages because they arent very reliable, and I have a feeling he just bought a bad copy. Are there any changes that can be made to this file to make it work?I am not going to pass this info along to the kid because he wouldnt know what he was doing-I told them to take the game back and exchange it for another.I just ask out of curiousity.I read the file in notepad so I assume I can edit it. lynch |

Those 9 dollar CD's you buy at Wally World are just the game demos. You might try the game's website, notably the forum, for specific help. Anything that applies to the demo will apply to that 9 dollar CD you got.
