Splinter Cell Problem
While I play the game, it constantly freezes or does other weird things. I've set the resolution to 1024x700 (I think that's right), and I have an ATI Radeon 9000 128MB DDR RAM. Here's the rest of my PC specs:
MSI Motherboard (845PGE I think--don't remember the exact model) P4 2.0 GHz (not overclocked) 40GB Hard drive 256MB DDR RAM Windows 2000 Professional Philips 5.0 Sound Card I don't know if it's the video card or not. Whenever the game freezes, the sound keeps playing. I've updated the drivers, since that's what the website for Splinter Cell suggested, but nothing has worked. Is it the video card? If it's suggested that I buy a newer video card, which one will work without spending much money? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. |

That video card should play the game fine. It might be some driver updates you need to do. Did you install ATI's latest drivers?

OK, usual suspects
Windows Update, give it a go Direct X, make sure it's the latest Vid Drivers, make sure they're the manufacturer's latest for your card If Splinter Cell doesn't mention Win2000 as one of its supported operating systems try running in compatibility mode Thanks, Jim
