Hey
It's a bummer when a shooter does not have joystick support. Unreal and Return to Napali both had it, so did Tournament. *** Doxy |

I'm finding it hard to imagine how using a joystick would be better (faster) than using the old keyboard and mouse. I'm sure some people have their preferences, but I've always used a mouse for my fire, jump, and head movement, and the arrow keys for my running/strafing. How can you be competitive with a joystick, or even a gamepad?

I have found a comfortable setup using a stick and mouse combo.
Mouse = free look+ strife left/right + jump Stick= Forward/Back, turn left/right and Fire Keys= Everything else. Works for me. I have to do without a stick often, so I getting pretty good like that too. |

It's just another bummer on a long list of bummers with Unreal 2.
They've spent too long on Multiplayer games and have lost the magic they once had in making superlative single-player games. Here's hoping id and Valve still remember how to make a "great" game in Doom 3 and HL2. If you want to play a "real" Unreal single-player game, then download "Operation Na Pali" or "Xidia Gold". http://www.planetunreal.com/teamvortex/ These two single player mods use the UT engine and look and play beautifully. |
