I bought Rise of Nations and it is a great game. When I try to play it randomly dissapears. I will be playing and the desktop will show up and the game will be gone with no error message. Sometimes it will stop responding when I try to start a game. I thought I had it fixed for a while when I started closing MSN Messenger before getting into the game but now I'm running my system in clean boot and it still happens. I also cannot join or host a multiplayer game. If I try to host it quits to the desktop. If I try to join it says the host left the game every time. This is very frustrating and I'm begining to wonder if it was 50 dollars well spent.
Here are my system specs ASUS A7V333 Mother Board AMD Athlon 1.8ghz CPU 512mb 333mhz DDR RAM 60 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive 6GB 5200 RPM Hard Drive GeForce 4 ti 4800se 128mb Graphics Card Plextor 24/10/40x CDRW Acer 40x CD-ROM Windows XP Home Edition Cable Modem |

Is that a 8X motherboard? It looks like you have a 8X video card, If it is, Age of Empires II had the same problem, Until it had a patch for a 8X setting, it would run just fine with the video card settings set to 4x on a asus board and a AMD. If you update your driver at the Nivida site that could help too if you havnt already.

I was recommended by Microsoft to install older drivers 33.0 something but it didn't seem to help. I think I will try installing the newest ones again.
