battlefield 1942 not working with mcafee firewall
Hey,
I've been playing Battlefield with no problems since I completed my new build. I soon found that going without a firewall was a big mistake though, since I was too happy to think about putting one on. The virus problem is gone, but the Mcafee firewall I put on from my old computer wont allow me to play online. I've tried zone alarm before and it keeps blocking my own internet access (very weird) so I want to make mcafee work. I've gone to the place where you allow access to programs and clicked the "allow full access" tab for battlefield, but I still get "failed to connect to server" when I try and play. This is a firewall problem isn't it? I'm only playing on the demo of battlefield and have the demo patch installed. What should I do? I have Mcafee firewall 2002. Thanks. |

Have you tried just disable the firewall and see what happens then?

I want a firewall up because I get attacks, but yeah, it worked before I had it installed. I tried zonealarm (free version) and it screwed my pc internet connection up.

i use zonealarm never had a problem.i do disable when i play online though.i know i shouldnt but it is a risk i will take to play online with no problems

used zonealarm had to many problems with it. like you had to shut it down to see certain things. with sygate i never have any problems. never have to shut it down.

Kerio personal firewall works thru BF1942 as well, no problems at all. It's freeware, don't have the link off hand but google will turn it up.
