My friend jsut bought Splinter Cell for the pc. He instaleld it and when he clicks play it givces him this error message

General protection fault!

History: UWindowsViewport: penWindow <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine

he has an hp pavilion 1.8ghz wiht a radeon 7000 Pci 64mb video card.

Hi Rodney,

Make sure your friend is running the most up to date versions of the ATI Catalyst drivers and DirectX. The card is a bit slow but it shouldn't crash the game, it should still be playable.

My mistake, I just checked the supported cards list and the Radeon 7000 isn't on there since it doesn't support DirectX 8.1.
