Fps

I'd like to learn how well my computer is at games. Is there a program that can tell me what the FPS is during the game I'm playing?

You can google for Fraps. I think it's for opengl games only, but it works well.

if you read the documents/manual or look in options you'll sometimes see an option to show you your fps in a game.

for UT2003 & i believe also U1 & U2 type "stat fps"
for UT i believe its in one of the menus called "time demo stats"

In Medal of Honor or any other Quake 3 based game I think you just type "fps 1" in the console.

i downloaded Fraps and it works great. the average FPS is around 64. my setup is a P4 2.8C Ghz, P4P800-D, Radeon 9800 Pro, 2 sticks of 256MB Corsair XMS3500 RAM, and some other stuff. should I be getting a higher fps or is it about right? what are your guys average FPS?

it all depends what games your playing and what graphic settings you have it on....different games will give u different fps. also, the lower the graphic settings, the higher your fps will be
