The minimum system specs are currently targeted at a 700 MHz PC with 128 MB RAM and a DX6-level video card TNT2 etc, meaning you won't need a supercomputer to run Half-Life 2.

But on the machine above don't expect to see reflective water, dynamic shadows and bump-mapped textures. The game running at maximum detail 50/60 fps, machine required for this is approx 1600Mhz cpu, 256 mb ram, GeForce4 Ti card.

In real life you need the best from a new game so I would recommend a 2000 cpu, 512 mb ram, GeForce4 Ti4800 128 ddr or ATI Radeon equivalent. The more power the better.

Its probably gonna have some type of online gamming mod like Half Life 1 had, which was called Counter Strike. he game itself, is a single player game, if you havnt played HL1, I would highly suggest you give it a try, its one of the best game story lines I have seen in a while, and I am expecting even more from HL2

I heard that there will be a multiplayer option. Kinda like Team Fortress. But it is prob a rumor.

At the previews for the game they gave the minimum requirements. But as avx said, don't expect too much with the minimum. Lots of people in the gaming world are upgrading to get the full effect of HL2 and Doom 3. Both are prob gonna use a ton of RAM. So that is the first thing i'd upgrade too..

HL2 HAS to have online multiplayer, why wouldn't it? Originally it wasn't online the some expansion packs came out and those were online. So why wouldn't HL2 have it?
