Is this possible??????????????

Recently I have installed Win XP Pro onto my new comp and I did a clean installation. For some reason my DVD burner doesnt read my Jedi Knight 2 CD but the CD-Drive on my old comp does. Is it possible to install software from another computer such as Jedi Outcast? BTW both my computers are completely shared: internet, files, etc.

Have you tried other CD's? Did you see if any other where working? Try that first. If they are then something is definately weird. I am not sure about instaling from computer to computer. Dont think it would work. But I would really like to know for sure.

Sometimes you should have the extra CD-Drive for your computer. Trying to read and play all your media on a RW can wear it out quicker. Suggest cheap 16x DVD drive.

Could be the CD then. But honestly go out and get yourself a 16x DVD-ROM. Lite-On would be your best bet for a quality drive without spending too much. Like I said, you will wear out your DVD-RW really quick. And right now they are too pricey to replace! :-)
