Server Rental?
I'm looking for prices of a server rental- either a 20 or 26 slot America's Army. Has anyone seen a good deal on prices lately?
Thanks BC |

Build your own and see if you can find some bandwidth somewhere. This hosting stuff is a ripoff.

i agree with blakhart. build your own. depending on what game you want to run, all in all its not that hard. i found this site called gamerunners.
http://www.gamerunners.com/ you download there program on what game you want to run. put it on your server and follow the directions. and make sure you have a nice cable or dsl connection. blakhart just buillt one for me. my servers running sof2.wolfie Last edited by wolfie; 08-26-2003 at 06:28 PM. |

For that many players you need quite a bit of bandwidth. Your best bet would probably be to rent a dedicated server (from someplace like Rackshack, as an example).
You're looking at 100 to 150 dollars a month, give or take depending on how much in hardware you require. |

By the time you paid a few months on a rented box, you'll have had enough to buy/build a nice server, and get some better bandwidth. Especialy if you shell out 200 or more a month. 512 up on business dsl here is 99 a month. For a non business customer the rates are usualy lower.
Wolfster, perhaps you'd like to invite some victims... err guests to your server??
