I was going to ask you the same question. Try running it again. Cause I have a little bit faster system and you are getting a higher score. Could be you didnt run the full test or quit early. Dunno... Try it again and post the score.

imbest, your scores are porlly lol cause 2003 uses DX 9.0 the the geforce's use 8.1, and another thing... you have two types of ram. 2100 and 2700. Ram can only run at the requency of the "weakest link" so your 2700's are runnign at 2100

Well imbest, the GF 4 MX is really just an improved version of the GF 2 card. 226 is really low though.

Are all GeForce cards just capable of using only DX 8.1? I have DX 9.0 installed on my comp with all the latest nVidia drivers...

You dont need a directx9 card to have direct x. You just wont be able to use all of the features x9 has to offer. I have a 4200 ti 8x 128mb card running direct x9 and things are dandy. My game right now is madden 2004.

you need a directx 9 card to run directx 9 features. The 3dmarks2003 tests use those features. So you kind of do need a dx9 card for it, but it will use dx9 as far as the 8.1 features are.

Remember those articles that found 3dMark 2003 only measured video card speed?- CPU-Ram, etc, doesn't make a difference.

3dMark03 or 01 or whatever are for graphic testing .so it doesnt matter if your CPU is a 1700 + or a 3000+ . If ya wanna test your rig then get PCmark2002. http://www.futuremark.com/download/?pcmark2002.shtml theres also a thread going on with results on pcmark scores.

I know that my card will support DX, but I am wondering if it will use the DX 9.0 features. I have had no problems with it, but I was just wondering if that was why my score was so low on 3dMark2003. From your post we both have the same sound card and you have had no problems either. I take it I should be just fine.

You can check your scores here. And that score looks pretty good with your setup. I think I got a 10,500 score with mine. Anyways, you can look through that link and compare scores with others systems...

You should just be able to change them all back to default. If not you are going to have to try and remember which setting was where. I dont have an ATI card, mine is MSI so our control panels would be different. Good luck. Hopefully someone will know a little bit more than me.
