Tiger Woods 2000 won't run/ install

Hello,
I bought a copy of EA's Tiger Woods pga 2000 in the bargain bin so I would have a little golf game to play, but I cannot get the thing to play to save me.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled, disabled graphics texturing in direct x, etc.
This is the error I am getting now:
TW2000 caused an invalid page fault in
module at 0000:00000003.

I have googled above as best I can and found no help.
This is 98se on a xp1600 gigabyte GA-7 gx with 768megs of pc133.
I have direct x 8 installed.
Any ideas are appreciated as this 5 dollar game is turning into a pain in the keister.
Thanks

Which video card are you running, and have you installed the most recent drivers for it?

It's a geforce 64 with fairly recently updated drivers.and that was what I was about to go back and add to the system specs.
I tried installiing once again after above post and when it asked me which graphics I wanted to use, I tried "software renderer" instead of my Nvidia on the menu and the damn game started no problem.!
What is this option? Is this game perhaps not setup for the "searing speed" of my card???
TIA
