What games will take advantage of dual processors?

None..yet I think. Its still a long way. Photoshop may use that extra power.

No games will.
In fact, alot of them won't run at all. If you've got some of those pricey CAD programs dual cpus could make your work alot faster but that's about it. |

Quake3's server can use 2 CPUs, no game itself does, though.

There are a few games out that are multithreaded; the ability to run the app in smp systems. Quake3 is a bad example of this ability. The new star wars game is reputed to use smp properly, with one cpu attending physics while the other does grafix. Tribes2 may also do smp natively in game, I know as a game server tribes2 will use smp, and have heard that tribes1 will take advantage of duals, at least as far as serving the game goes.
A common way of playing Q3 (and any number of games that don't like to run on an smp sys) on a dual sys is to set the game to use one cpu only via the affinity setting, then set the game to realtime in priority. Having Q3 run under dual mode in game is asking for trouble, smp ability was broken after a certain update to Q3 was added. I have heard that more and more games will use smp in the future. |

The only real benefit to having a dual processor set up with games is the ability to multitask. Let's say you want to make an in-game video of your favorite game without a big hit in frames, then you would want a dual processor set up.
