What to get???

I'm not a big gamer, I play alone and not on line at all. I have Ghost Recon with Desert Siege and I'm getting sick of it.

I'm hoping you guys can recommend a good game I can try. Thanx.

P4 2.4GB Radean 8500le and 512 ram

It depends on what genre(s) you prefer; I had a blast with No One Lives Forever 2($15.99 at EBGames.com!), and it's probably the best game I've ever played, bar none. You might also try Medal of Honor: Allied Assault along with MOH: Spearhead, the expansion. Other titles I would recommend include:

Vietcong
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Splinter Cell(although I think you'd have a hard time playing this with that 8500LE)
Hitman2
Deus Ex(an oldie but goodie)

I second Deus Ex...this is one of the best games ever. Medal of Honor is awesome, too. Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a good time waster....

Jedi Outcast had too many puzzles for my taste.

Too many puzzles? The only ones I even noticed were on the last level, right before you fight Desann.

i am a huge fan of the game mafia. it is sorta like gtaIII but it is back in 20's new york. you are a mafia hitman and have to take care of their stuff. if you like gta, then you will love mafia.

If your into Real Time Strategy (RTS) then Warcraft III would be cool. But if you don't want to spend a lot of money I'm playing this game called Warlords: Battlecry and it is REALLY good. Truly a gem in the gigantic game industry. And you can get it online for $10-$15 at Amazon.

The puzzles....such as the level where you are in the mine, and you have to get into the red room with the radiation. The solution is to look over the ledge, see the platform extending and retracting, go throught the tunnel to get inside the room...

I liked the game, but I don't like games where I have to search the whole map over and over again to find a special key...or the dreaded jumping puzzle like the laser room on JKII...

I'd say go for Splinter Cell. I played it on a Radeon 8500AIW, and had no problems with it.

Battlefield 1942 is great, but I would only buy it if you play on playing online.

The mine part wasn't hard, but, now that you mention it, I *hated* that laser level! I've beaten the game 10 times, and I still have problems with that level. I didn't think of that as a 'puzzle', I guess. The worst 'puzzle' game that I've played has got to be 'Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb'.

If money is a issue, wait, and get Half Life 2. It should be out on the 30th.

I just finished playing Splinter Cell. That wasn't bad...not really a FPS though.

Splinter Cell's graphics were awesome......but I do admit that sometimes it was quite frustrarted to find the places you need to go next....It gives me a hard time.
