Problems with 3DMark03

Right after i finished making my system i tried this out. I got a horrible score and i went down to 3fps @ certain points.

2.66ghz 533fsb P4
9700Pro
1gb 2700 ddr @ 333mhz (?)
Cant remember the name of the MSI mobo, but it has AGP 8x enabled.

What else could matter?
What the heck is wrong with my machine?

Are you running the latest Catalyst drivers?

The 9700 should score 4500 or better not sure on the 9600 but I would guess 3500 or better.

I've had no problems with the Catalyst 3.6's or 3.7's

The Catalyst are ATI drivers with the 3.7's being the latest.

my 9600Pro can score more than 4000 in 3DMark03, so a 9700 should do more than that

3dmark03 can go down to 3 fps on the CPU tests, my system does this on the troll's lair demo. If you are talking about GPU tests going down that low then maybe there could be a problem, although I'm using a 9800 and don't really have anything to compare it to. Just for comparison's sake, my highest score is 5714. If you could post your score it might help.

It's my understanding that the 9600pro 256mb has slow memory and this could be your problem with low scores. More is not always faster.
