Halo or Max Payne 2?

I'm almost through with my build and the first game I wanted to test out the comp on was HL2. Seeing how that's not gonna happen, I want to know whether I should get Halo or Max Payne 2?

Ya see, I won't have a modem or my own phone line by the time Halo comes out. And from what I hear it is mainly a Multiplayer game. Not to mention dialup prob wouldn't do to well.

So should I go with Halo or Max Payne 2? What is your opinion?

I'm prob gonna wait until I can see a review of both online. But I just want to know what you think

Halo is an awsome offline game also. For the Xbox it wasnt online. You could play system link and system link thrue Gamespy/Xbconnect. But the storyline is awsome . Probly the only game that id let the cinematics run their full course and actually watch.

I Loved Halo (Dont want to start a console wars thread It had an excellent Campaign mode, and the coopertative campiagn was probly the coolest thing implemented in the game. Although I liked Max Payne alot, I'd probly get Halo PC over it. The online play should rock...

I'm just praying that when i do get a modem the lag won't be to bad. What do you think?

Does anyone play counterstrike or an online game on dialup?

I wish to god i had cable/dsl, but they don't offer it where i live.

Same for me right here.......But seriously dialup was waaaaaay to slow.Once I played CounterStrike via dialup and there is only 1 word to describe it....sucks!!The lagging was awful!!
But you can try,i bet it would not be a good experience..

i used to have a 56 k modem. It really wasnt that bad i pinged at arond 200-300 and didnt lag horribly. you just need to find a server near u. I would go with halo the campaign mode is really really good.

i have a feeling that HL2 will have more replay value than Max Payne 2. Max Payne was great but after I beat it was like, alright, game over, next! MP2 will prolly be the same unless they feel like shipping some kind of multiplayer option. HL2 is replayable just in the fact off the interactability of the environments, and the changing AI that makes no two situations the same.

Actually, Halo has an average rating of 89.1% (http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/291594.asp)

Which means its a great game.

They've update the graphics for the PC. However, Halo for the PC doesn't have the cooperative mode.

I got Halo for PC and I have no problems whatsover with it. The new Online games are helluva fun. If ya dont actually have the game then dont diss it. Reviews are sometimes vague. I give it an 8.5/10

PS the flamethrower is totally fun.

After seeing screen shots and reading up on the games at their websites, I'd say I'm going with Max Payne 2. I just loved the first Max Payne, I was addicted to it. So I think when it comes out tomarrow (I think its tomarrow.. correct me if I'm wrong) I will be buying it, then I'll have a nice new game to play on my nice new monitor.
