i had madden 2k3 and it was lan compatible.....you need the exact same copy on both machines....etc. if one machine has a patch then the other has to have the same patch.

That video card is inadequate for your system. You should invest in a GeForce 4ti 4200 or 4800se or an ATI Readeon 9600 PRO.

you mean for my 900~mhz right?, and I was thinking of looking at the FX5200, or the raedon 9200. How do they look? Unforunatly the Raedon u suggested is out of the question 150$ is a little to much for my allowence budget, the ti4200 might work, but The 128MB editions are around 120$ and the 4800, would love it but too expensive.

Oh, I didn't read it carefuly. I thought you had a 16mb card on a 3ghz system. Anyway, for your 900mhz system I wouldn't go with the FX series as they are very poor performers compared to the Ti series.

I haven't heard much about the 9200 but I think it would be fine on that system. Yes, SE usualy means slower. I found that out the hard way. I bought a GeForce 4ti 4800se and later found out that it is a Ti 4600. That is in no way bad because it is still almost equal to the 4800 but at a much lower price
