Win XP or win 2k for gaming?

simple topic, i am running win2k now on my PC's but was wondering if win XP might run my games better.

since I have messed up my OS on one of my computers, i am going to have to reinstall anyways, so i was wondering about going to XP for gaming.\

Just wondering if win xp will give me better preformance in online gaming. I plan to be in Horizons when it is released.

I don't think you'd notice any considerable changes. I use XP Pro at home and 2k Pro at work. Both are very stable systems (once you get the patches, of course). I think it depends on the game's minimum requirements.

The only difference between the two really is the eye candy on top of XP, and some network additions, like the pppoe client and the ability to act as a bridge (like anyone would ever wanna use a WinXP machine as a bridge?).

Otherwise the performance should be about the same, if not better for 2k because of less overhead.

I have gamed in both and I lean slightly to XP, mainly because of compatibility issues.
