X-BOX Games

I just got an X-BOX, and I was wondering: what are the best games that have been released for it so far?

My friend really likes Halo and Morrowind. I like morrowind much better on computer, but that's just me. Halo is really fun though.

LoL - This is exactly why I will never get an X-Box...

There choice of games is soooo poor...all that power and like 2 or 3 games that are actually worth playing...

I mean come on, Metal Gear Solid 2 was an outstanding game, but do you see every single PS2 owner praising it EVERY TIME you ask them what a good game for the system is??

I would try and sell it for as close to what you paid for it and get a Gamecube, or PS2 if you dont have them..But if you want to keep the x-box around, they have halo 2 comming out soon, and you can bet there will be a halo 3, and since microsoft has more money than they know what to do with, even if it doesnt sell, there will be a HALO 4...

Halo, Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic, Splinter Cell (one of the best games I have ever played), Soul Calibur 2, Madden 2004 (you can get this on other platforms bu its looks the best on Xbox, however there is a drawback because there is no net play), Morrowind, Ghost Recon (also very awesome)

Ok, Ill let you X-Box owners keep the ones you mentioned...even though most of them are all available on both PS2, Gamecube, and PC...

But how about PS2...Tekken: Tag Tournament, Kingdom Hearts, Metal Gear Solid 2, Devil May Cry 1 and 2, Soul Calibure 2(this one really sucks cause we got Hitachi from Tekken..Im not even gonna lie, that is REALLY LAME, Link for Gamecube and Spawn for X-Box is way cooler), Midnight Club 1 and 2, The Bouncer 1 and 2, Jak and Daxter the Precursor legacy...The list goes on and on.

Im not too firmiliar with Gamecube yet, but the main reason Im gonna be getting one is for the new edition of Rogue Squadron, and the new edition of StarFox...I dont even like Flight games...but if you have ever played these 2 games, they are just spectacular.

By the way, not trying to down x-box or anything, just talking games at the moment.

We all know youre a PS2 Fanboy Avx . You say the same thing over and over in all your Xbox vs. Ps2 posts. Just like you did in this one.

You obviously are not too familiar with Gamecube because it has the same amount of games that a consumer is likely to play as xbox...so I don't know why you would say...

I could understand why you might trade in for PS2 but why Gamecube? I own all three...and I can tell you now that you will be playing xbox more than Gamecube...I bought Gamecube because it has games like Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and Skies of Arcadia (even though I already played this on Dream Cast)...plus its future games like the remake of Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, Mario 128, Mario Kart and of course Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Then you look at xbox that has tons of future games to come out plus its originals..."Halo, Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic, Splinter Cell (one of the best games I have ever played), Soul Calibur 2, Madden 2004 (you can get this on other platforms bu its looks the best on Xbox, however there is a drawback because there is no net play), Morrowind, Ghost Recon (also very awesome)"... believe me xbox is much better than Gamecube...

Thats not true..I didnt even go into my rant about that mangled keyboard they call a controller...

And I didnt even mention the fact that the reson the games suck is because Microsoft has so much monye, that the system could basically crash and burn, and they will keep marketing it because it doesnt really matter to them...its nothing more than a half arsed attempt to try and get there name in another market..

Its just my opinion, I think X-Box is a not so great investment...They have a poor choice of games, and why else would you buy a system, then to play good games...? I see the same future for X-Box as many did the Dreamcast...Microsoft just doesnt have enough ingenuity and imagination to compete with vets like Sony and Nintendo.

Why dont you rag on the other guys for saying: Halo, Halo, Halo, Halo, Halo, Halo, Halo, Halo, Halo, Halo, Halo...You know, Ive played the games, I dont get why its so popular..

I loved JSRF, Sega GT 2002, (They were giving those two away a while ago).
AWD, this site has bunches of reviews:
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/index.html

I stand with Avx on this one though, Ps2 beats the competition to a bloody pulp when it comes to games and variety. Nintendo has a chance, they just have too much first party suppport, not enough 3rd, Microsoft has too much 3rd party support of games that suck or are on PS2 (And since alot more ppl have PS2, they will not shell out dough for a game thats on both system when they own a PS2) and Sony has an excellent balace of both. Hence why they're on top. Halo was an excellent game. It can't be the sole support of a system....

I have an xbox and the be truthful, the only good games to play on it are sports games. Just two friends sitting down and having it out on an old fashioned football game cant be beat to me. I have Halo, and yes it does rock, esp. with 16 people playing , but I'd favor pc over any game. (Yes, I do have halo for pc as well.) Some good games are Halo, Splinter Cell, I guess KOTOR, I've rented it, and got the ebon hawk and my lightsaber, but to me it doesn't do justice to what the xbox can graphically do, and return to castle wolfenstein. I liked the medal of honor frontline game too, though the pc version is a lot better. Xbox is great, but I would keep upgrading your pc and play games on it, or at least wait until the new consoles come out and get one of them.

Forgot to mention, check out http://www.xbox.ign.com/reviews for game reviews. They do a pretty decent job of reviewing. I check here to get a jist of what I should look out for when I rent games.

I have a ps2 as well, and the only difference between the two are graphically. Xbox is superior, and it has a internal hard drive, as for the ps2 you have to buy memory cards to save anything. The main reason I can think of for buying a ps2 is for its enormous game variety (yes it does beat the xbox here) and its backwards compatibility with playing ps1 games. Its a great system, but if you want quality over quantity, stick with xbox or pc.

Just my two cents.

I agree with tomster...the xbox is the better system based on hardware specs and graphically...however the PS2 is has the games support and is also the reason it stays on top. Not to mention that the PS2 is getting a crap load of support from buyers in Japan whereas the xbox is not since its a system made by a gaijin company. Therefore, PS2 most likely will always be on top in sales...but hopefully when they build the next upgrade, they try to make a better quality system.

The only thing I don't like about getting pc games is because I upgrade. I had a bunch of old PC games that I addictively played, then when I upgraded they no longer worked. Whereas I still have Atari games I play to this day, not to mention the old NES games. I'll probably buy PC for the quality anyway, but it stinks if they ever stop working.

Halo is the main game keeping me interested in XBox, but its PC release holds me back. I've been pleasantly surprised with the XBox's performance, just not enough to buy a new system. I'm going to keep my eye on their next platform though!

I own x-box and this is one good statement, the game comes nowhere near to goldeneye 64's multiplayer. The games not great, maybe a tad above average but not much more.

Selling my xbox on ebay and getting my ps2 back.

I partially disagree with White Mike, Halo's multiplayer is awesome and rock solid. I guess you've never played with 16 people before.

I chose Light from the beginning, through my actions and dialogue choices. That way, I can start over after I beat it and go Dark! This is also coming from someone who *hates* RPGs, but I must admit this is a damn good game.

If you have XBOX Live get Return to castle wolfenstein. Although its glichy its the best multiplayer I have ever played on XBOX (got 9.2/10 by OXM). If you dont have live then I would suggest you wait a couple of days untill kill.switch comes out, I probly wont get it cauz it doesnt have live support but if you dont have live it doesnt matter.
