hi, im new FPS help please
Hi, i just got my self my first PC,ive mainly been a console gamer and i currently own a xbox,my fav type of games are first person shooters,i love halo and might pick it up 4 the pc, i got half life generations 3 and allied assault at the same time as my pc and i cant wait to get my hands on HL2 and doom 3, i was wondering what other good FPS i could get, i dont like the arena games and only have dail up, so im looking 4 good single player FPS, any help would be great

For single player? BF1942 and CS are aimed strictly at multi-player.
I would say... Deus Ex Unreal (the first one, tournament has no single player storyline to speak of) American McGee's Alice Clive Barker's Undying These are all at least a couple years old so you can probably find them in the bargain bin at various places for about 10 bucks  .

all mentioned above are great, but if u can wait until nov for CALL OF DUTY u will be amazed. i've been playin 2 differ demos from the game and that game rocks!
you can never go wrong with Unreal 1 or 2 serious sam 1 or 2 star trek elite force 1 or 2 max payne aliens vs predator 2 ghost recon splinter cell mafia

hey propaine,
did 1942 have a good single player? the multi was/is sweet, but i don't have the game and bigbaddogg was lookin for good single player games. no fun playin against bots in 1942. |

There is a new Medal of Honor Expansion out called Breakthrough which I hear is much better than Spearhead. Although I don't see why so many people hate Spearhead anyway. I love it.

I like it and play Instant Battles daily. The bots are real stupid thought. I just love the game buts thats my opinion. Its the type of game that I like. Ramming a battleship into a Landing Craft and blasting it with your cannons then jumping on thier deck and stealing the enemis plane or chopper is such a thrill eh
EDIT ! stupid me missed that part aboot DIALUP dont buy it if you have dialup the best part aboot 1942 is the DC mod and multiplayer and ya need a good connection for that eh sorry Last edited by Propain; 10-14-2003 at 05:34 PM. |

I thought No One Lives Forever (kinda dated ) and No One Lives Forever 2 were pretty good FPS games. Very highly rated by gamespot if you trust those reviews.

Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City arent first person shooters, but there is a guy and you can shoot people, and drive cars, and planes while shooting, and many more.......

Why not get some of the newer good games like Jedi Academy, Freedom Fighters (or is it force) II,Halo, Red Faction II. If you bought a fast machine- the graphics and sound are better on these games
