CS1.6help!

I just recently updated my counter-strike to 1.6 on my one of my computers. (my good one is being repaired) And since, it has not been able to play CS well, or in most cases at all! most recently it has not been able to get a game into a startup screen. i dont understand it played just fine with 1.5, and had not as much lag as 1.6. i've heard of "fliping" ur ram usage or something like that, and im want to know more about that, and what that does. im running a compaq presario with an AMD K62-400Mhz, 160Mb's of sdr ram, and an ATI 3D rage Lt pro. So far im hating 1.6 its seems to be hogging all my system resources! If this is some sort of falty in my CS, tell me please. Its killing me not beeing able to play my fav. game of all time.

You can try to uninstall and reinstall steam from your computer. Go HERE , its the Steam web site. You can download the installer here and If you still have problems they have a forum as well.

Its just Steam and 1.6 are not yet completely stable. Valve is still working some corks out. They just need to do it faster

Good Luck
