TFT Monitor For Gaming
Is it possible to get a 17" TFT monitor that will not break the bank that is good for gaming. I mainly play SOF2 double Helix. I am a bit fed up of my 17" Trinitron monitor and would like something a bit bigger. My other half wants a TFT although I would be happy with a nice 19" CRT monitor as I am bothered about the TFT being crap for games, and the PC is out of the way anyway! Anybody using a 17" TFT for gaming that isn't some stupidly expensive price?

What is your budget?
The best one that I can recommed is the Samsung 173T. This is one of the best gaming LCDs on the market right now. A lower cost option, but still a very nice monitor (lacking DVI) is the KDS Rad-7. |

Didn't really want to pay more than £400 at the most as I could get a great 19" CRT for half that :-)

I picked up a Eizo 15" a while back for my wife and she loves it.
The picture was a lot better after we got a videocard with a DVI out to plug into the monitor. Also you don't have to worry about geometry...screen centering and the like if you do use the DVI jacks. If you go that route, remember to check and see if it ships with a DVI cable, as many of them don't. Cirerrek |
