Question Why do games brodcast signals?

I have lots of games-everytime I start to play a new game-sygate personal firewall says the game is trying to broadcast signal to ....... some numbers. Why does this happen? Looks like it happens to most games that are 1998 and above. Is this some sort of spyware? Sometimes I do not understand-like I play Sim city- I don't have the slightest clue why it does so. Am I supposed to allow this broadcast? Thanks

what makes you think its the games?

Unplug your pc from the net then try again.

Run Ad-Aware check again.

Im guessing you got spyware or maybe ever one of them nasty Kaza virusis

Well-Sygate shows me the game logo, the game name- So it is the game. I don't konw what the games are doing-like testing for internet connection. I think. I run ad-ware, spybot almost every 3 days- I don't think its some trojan or virus.

Maybe you should go into the game options it might let you disable like automatic updates etc...
I used to use Sygate and i always got like incoming connections from like weird IP's which had no reason for trying to contact me... even if i had no apps running. Could that mean like someone was trying to hack me? a lot were from the same Pacbell DSL ip adress.
