Red face Rocket jumps

Ya, I know this is a very stupid and obvious question, but I never learned to do it.

So, I am playing Quake 2, how do I perform a Rocket Launcher jump?

TIA for the input.

Shoot the ground beneath you and hit the jump button at the same time. Launches you twice as far as a normal jump but hurts alot, also must be timed just right.

Heh, it really hurts.

Well, after several hit points lost and many reloads, I have mastered the art of rocket-launcher jumping.

Thank you, nocturnx.
