Thumbs up NFS underground rocks-get the demo

It rocks. Never seen NFS going this way before. You can find the demo at EA. The AI is damm hard. And the drag racing is hard. But still a good game. Try it. Demo is around 200mb. So be ready. Good thing EA servers are fast. The sound track rocks. My subwoofers are coughing out tons of air

I think the last game in that series that was good was Porsche Unleashed. HP2 was very arcade like, and the realism of the cars ended with the looks. A Murcielago does not go 0-150 in under a second, and live to survive.

Underground is OK, but still not up to the level it should be. To me its just another finger in the "Fast and Furious" crowds moneypot.

Same with me, i started to dislike that series with every new one that came out to be honest. nfs4 was fun in its days, and Porche unleashed i played for a long time, but that last one was like a 5 year old arcade game imho. and havent they brought out a version too that could only be played online and you need to pay every month (something with 60's and 70's cars and hot rods and so) . i saw some screens once and it looked good, but i am never in my life giving a monthly fee or even a dime to play damn online games. paying internet cost is more than enough. seems more like another series gone to total waste and commerce.
(well its not only ea, that last toca driver game was absolute junk too) .

seems like the only way to get a realistic driving game is to get a good f1 game or so (and thats waay to hard for me)

Realistic.. yes F1. EA also has that F1 game. For more realism off all the AI support. Well the demo now has free online mode. Customize cars- yeah just like Fast 2 Furious. I never did play the porche one. I dislike one brand car for a game. Using my dsl- 43k-It took 1hour 30 minutes.

The demo is extremely short..... but I'll probably end up getting the game to help me learn about cars and their parts (no one will teach me so I'll have to teach myself). I think the game is a good concept, it'll definately sell. And I agree about buying games based only one one car, not worth it.

NFS Hot Pursuit 2 was a good game (on the PS2 anyway). I never liked the Porsche one either...too herky jerky in the controls. I figure I'll get NFS Underground when it comes out too. Looks pretty good and the reviews are good so far too.

In the display configuration- I got default 800x600 at medium settings. In the advance settings, I got this screen. Some options I can't tweak. Is it my card, or the demo? Here is the picture

i was able to tweak those options in my demo, so it must be your card.

Know where to find the differences between each geforce series? Like 2, 3, 4. Difference in hte FX series? A comparison table or something like that.
What DX game is this? I've noticed that my card is the minimum card required to run the game-which is not a good thing. Will find a card soon.
