Dissapearing Game

Call of Duty dissapears randomly. I will be playing and the game will just dissapear with no error message. This is what my desktop looks like after it dissapears: Desktop. You can't see it in the screen shot but everything is also very discolored and bright. I have reinstalled Direct X, my video card drivers, and the game. It still does it. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it?

I had the same problem.
You have to go into video setting in the game and select 800X600 and apply and return to the menu screen as I recall.
I solved my problem.
Check everytime you access the game to make sure you have the right resolution. Your video card probally doesn't support the 640X480 it is looking for.

I was just having the same problem in a few games where it would just randomly close my game for no reason. I finally updated my BIOS drivers and motherboard drivers and since then nothing. I believe you should try and make sure everything is updated and then play the game.

It was very stressful!

Go ahead and update everything that you can. I know with the GeForce's new nVidia video card drivers the new ones ran very unstable for me. Locking up games. Just a warning to you. But you can try them and see what happens. Good Luck!

Did you flash your BIOS or just update drivers? I have never flashed my BIOS before and I am not very excited about it since when I tried to customize the Asus speech thing it messed it up when the computer restarted during flashing.

Go to the ASUS webstie and download their BIOS update utility. Just look in their downloads section for the newest version. It will do it all for you. Pretty self explanatory on how to use the program. It will automatically flash BIOS and download it all for you.

The newest version for BIOS is 1.07 or 1.7... Something like that. That is what you want! Hope it works for ya!

That's what I get when I try to go to the download section for my mothe board. I frequently have problems with the Asus site.

EDIT: I got through to the site but I don't think I'm going to update my BIOS because of the problems I have had in the past flashing things.

You dont have to flash it yourself. The program does it. It works great. Do you want me to email you the little program?

Well the program flashed the Asus POST speech thing too. It messed it up and my computer wouldn't start up untill I disabled it. When my video card went out it would have been easier having the specifics from the voice thing rather than the beep it gave.

Hmmm... That is weird. Dunno why it would do that at all. Are you sure you downloaded the right BIOS update?

It wasn't a BIOS update. It was a utility that was supposed to let me customize the voices on the Asus POST Reporter. What ever it did, it messed it up.

Oh download this ASUS update program. asusupdt52001.zip If I find the right link I will post it later if you cannot find it from an ASUS web page. You can go to other countries perspective pages also if one is down.
