Hi... whenever i play MoH online i always get these evil "messenger service" pop-ups.. they come in a window that looks like that window that you get when you netsend message. i have to minimize my game and hit ok.. arrgh verry annoying
they look like this: ____________________ Messenger Service -[]X| ____________________| Hi i'm Stacy come to this | site to see my webcam | Radomwebcam dot com | [OK] ____________________| ^ Argh those things are EVIL ^

Im using the Freedom firewall/popupblocker/antivirus and its the best thing I ever came across since Ive been online. http://www.freedom.net/ Nothing gets by Freedom .
What also helps to prevent thoses popups is enabling your Windows firewalls in Network Connections and Internet Connections (Advanced Tabs)

Disable the Mesenger service in Services found under Admin tools... this is assuming you are running XP

Definitely disable it. Not only is it annoying, but it is a security hole in XP.

Either you don't have a firewall or it's not set up correctly. Firewalls block Messenger by default. You are a sitting duck to be hacked. Use the firewall in XP at the very least but a free one like ZoneAlarm or Sygate would be even better. |
