go into the video settings and lower them, a lot if necessary. and if this is lagging online its probably your internet connection

How much ram do you have ?
That game, and Planetside, can actually use a gig of ram.

Send a message via MSN to Propain Send a message via Yahoo to Propain
next time ya have a game going , press ALT + TAB to minimize the screen then goto task manager ,look in processes (ctrl+alt+delete) just to see how much juice 1942 actually takes.

Ok
yes it is lagging online but i have broadband internet which runs at 576Kbps isnt that a fast connection?
i run it with the settings on medium on high it is imposible to move!!and on low the graphics realy suck!!
i have 512ram but dont know the DDR or PC numbers and it has a 64mb vid card
i done that (ctrl, alt, del) thing and it say CPU99% and Memory usage 309,680kb
i have found that it is alot less laggy with fewer people on the server but my internet is good!!

thats really strange because i have a crappy computer and i play battlefield i only have 384mb of RAM, a 64mb vid card, 900mhz processor and i use less than medium settings but not the lowest.
maybe its cus i have a cable connection

and about the lag, its probably not your fault. its probably someone with 56k playing on that server and lagging all of it up... i suggest you play on servers that kick people that have a high ping (synergy is good )

99% ?
Yet you can consider turning up all the effects ?
What's your processor and when you ctrl+alt+del what other applications, besides the game and your firewall, are running ?
I remember the reviews of that game specfically mentioning a problem with lag so there maybe little you can do about it but have you patched the game at all ?

patching is not an issue... if you dont have the same version as the server you cannot play on the server

The patches that were released for the game, I think they were out by January 03, were to correct some of the problems the game had and one of them was lag, it wasn't just a matter of the internet connection.

I play on a server which has 32 people max on and its not laggy i think it was due to having too many people on the server

just 1 question:
is it a geforce?? what type? ...cause i've tested several gforces on bf1942 and they almost all lagged...
i found out it was due to the newer drivers on a older vidcard..
try earlier detonators...maybe even secondhand detonators (non-officials)
after that i replaced it with a radeon 9500 pro on a 1100 amd with sdram 128mb and it all worked without any probs on full specs on the bigger servers...
also friends of mine had these lagging probs ...aspecially with non-TI gforces ...
i even had a bigger prob later on with a creative gf4 mx440
i tried several drivers on that one and none worked with bf1942 ...all my polugons where rendered and not 1 skin :s
ok, the mx-cards are famous in this section but then again bf1942 was the only game that was this hard to render on a gf nvidia..whatever type besides the TI-line...

Thats BS Looneycooney! I had battlefield running smooth with a GeForce 2 32mb of video ram, with the latest det. drivers(wasnt that 50.something one the latest 40 something) on a comp with a 2Ghz Celeron Proc. and 384 of ddr 2100 ram. so u cant say for sure that all GeForce cards lag.
