If a person had Win98 and wanted to install a second copy of this OS for the purpose of gaming only, would it be benefical to do so?
Would it enhance the game's performance (quicker draw, redraw of graphics, speeding up the game)? If so, what would be the bare minimum required and how would one go about this? Any tech pages around that explains? Even if some think there is no improvement, I would still like to test this on my own, so if someone knows the bare minimum, please advise. Thanks~ |

If you wanted to kick around stuff in the registry to get optimal game speed, maybe. But as far as the hardware goes, not really. Any full screen 3D app will be interacting with the vid card, RAM, and processor directly, unless you have other programs running eating up processor and memory cycles, it shouldn't be an issue.
